Rectangle of Statistics,

Statisticians

and Statistics users.

Most of people are
statistics users and
some of them are
statisticians. When
we can not
understand
statistics, there
should be a problem
in these two kind of
people. Because
statistics is pure
without any
pollution. It is
based on
Mathematical
methods, so it is
accurate and
understandable.

What is two times two?

Statisticians: 4

Mathematician: limit 4 plus and minus epsilon which approaches zero

Engineer: According to engineering tables almost 4

Worker: It depends on contract

Employee: Your answer will be ready tomorrow

Politician: It depends!

Liar: what do you like?

**Statistical
literacy**
is a term used to describe an individual's or
group's ability to understand statistics.
Statistical literacy is necessary for citizens to
understand material presented in publications such
as newspapers, television, and the Internet.
Numeracy is a prerequisite to being statistically
literate. Being *statistically literate* is
sometimes taken to include having both the ability
to critically evaluate statistical material and to
appreciate the relevance of statistically-based
approaches to all aspects of life in general.
Statistical literacy
brings a range of thinking and practical skills that
include: knowledge; comprehension; application;
analysis; synthesis; and evaluation. It enables a
feel for data, including being able to support an
argument with evidence, but also being aware of the
variety of interpretations that are possible from
those data. A statistically literate person will
apply common sense to problems and appreciate that
information that is gleaned from data will have
uncertainty attached to it.

H.G. Wells is often cited as saying that statistical understanding will one day be as important as being able to read or write.
